Students Gain Insight through University Events

Students at Southern Cross University are offered a variety of events on several campuses that aim to educate them and to provide them with entertainment. These sessions are held in several buildings on university grounds.

People who want to learn more about how to improve their lifestyle and their health might attend the sessions offered by RRISK. RRISK, or Reduce Risk, Increase Student Knowledge, plans to hold three informational meetings on campus. One meeting will be held in Tweed Civic Center, another in Whitebrook Theater, and the final one on Coffs Harbour campus. Topics covered in these meetings will center around how young people on campus might reduce risky behavior and live more secure lifestyles.

Another event on campus will focus on end of life challenges and discuss the ethics of euthanasia. This lecture, given by a university professor and to be held on Beachside Campus, will provide information for how to best to make decisions about terminal illnesses and dying. This lecture is also intended to help people plan for their estates and to overcome their fears in addressing end of life challenges.

Students who are interested in visual arts might choose to attend the Visual Arts Honours Students Graduation Exhibit. This exhibition, to be held in Visual Arts V Block, Lismore campus, will feature six student artists. These artists’ works will be on display for one week in November 2010. A grand opening ceremony will be held on the evening of November 19, 2010.

Southern Cross University offers its student population an assortment of events during this fall semester that allow them to learn more about how to live better lives. Some events also are intended to provide entertainment and appreciation of arts. University students may also appreciate the fact that fellow students and professors will headline these sessions.
